This semester, we will study on Gaziantep center. Before our trip, we studied on regionalism. We examined in detail. Later, we started our trip. Firstly, we went to Zeugma Mosaic Museum. Mosaics that were found were from Zeugma ancient city. They belonged to 2. and 3. Centuries A.D. or older.
After museum trip, we went to our hotels and we prepared for center trip. We went to Gaziantep Castle and Emine Göğüş kitchen museum. We were informed about Gaziantep culinary culture. Also, we went to workshop area and we prepared some food that belonged to Gaziantep.
In the end of the day, we went to sites that we would study. The center was divided into two. Also, the all groups were divided into two. The second site was given to my group. Also, we were given an analysis approach. We would study on ‘Street section’. In our second day, we started to analyse the site deeply. We drew a lot of sketches. As a street section group, we considered topography and the height of the buildings. Our instructors provided us Municipality drawings. So, we could study more accurate. As we guessed and understood, we will design a culinary institution for Gaziantep. For that, while analysing the site, we also thought about what could be designed for this area.
After trip, we went to Zeugma Ancient City. We examined the site and we saw where the mosaics were found.
